Our history

Polym AB was founded in 1979 by the present Managing Director, Mr Rolf Carlsrud. Their main product then was the supply of MOULDED HOSES in various rubber qualities for the heavy vehicles industry for example buses, lorries, military vehicles, aeroplanes, trucks, excavators and allied equipment to the contracting business.

At its very start, Polym AB introduced reinforced SILICONE HOSES, which at that time fulfilled the increased demands on primarily, high-temperature durability and improved compression settings than did traditional rubber qualities.

Gradually other products of the highest quality associated with RUBBER and PLASTICS along with GAS SPRINGS have been included into the ever increasing range, and are mainly supplied to the same customers. In 2004, SPECIALLY MOULDED HOSES still represent more than 65% of the company's turnover. Today Polym AB is supplying nearly all major manufacturers of heavy vehicles.

In 2002 POLYM AB started to sell and warehouse SAMCO Sports silicone hoses and hose kits, the customers being primarily motor sport and vehicle trimming companies specialising in track and street racing, rally and exhibitions. Even this part of the range is expanding all the time.

POLYM AB sponsors Luleå’s University of Technology and their efforts with Formula SAE.

The sale of THERMOPLASTIC MUDGUARDS, MUDFLAPS and FIRE BOXES for HAND FIRE EXTINGUISHERS and other SAFETY CABINETS for protective equipment are other important product areas.

Seeing as POLYM AB places great emphasis on quality and delivery security we have become certified in accordance with ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004.
